簡介內容 | In 1887, General John Bidwell, pioneer, statesman, and founder of Chico, donated eight acres of cherry orchard, and construction began on Chico Normal School. The campus opened in 1889 with 90 students and five faculty members. The first graduating class in 1891 had 15 members. Today's 15,000 students hail from 32 states and 52 nations. The campus has grown from the original eight acres to 119 acres, not including the University Farm. Although the original Normal School building is gone, today's campus still reflects the beauty and tradition of the institution's early years. John Bidwell's vision is thriving in the 21st century. You, too, can contribute to a brighter tomorrow for our students by making a gift to CSU, Chico. |
