簡介內容 | California State University, Sacramento is the seventh-largest university in the 23-campus CSU system, enrolling a multicultural student body of nearly 28,000. Sacramento State, often called “Sac State,” was founded as Sacramento State College in 1947 during a time of intense demand for higher education after World War II. We moved to our permanent location on the banks of the historic American River in 1953. In 1972 we were renamed California State University, Sacramento.
Today, our 300-acre campus is sheltered by more than 3,000 trees and dotted with flower gardens. We have about 3 million square feet of building space. Miles of trails stretch along the nearby river parkway, linking the University and student housing with recreational areas such as Folsom Lake and Old Sacramento.
We’re building to accommodate a fast-growing student body. Recent additions include a five-story classroom building, a continuing education building, a new facility for University-licensed public radio stations, the Alumni Center and a major expansion of our student union. The University’s Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex was upgraded to host the 2000 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials, and hosted the event again in 2004.
