| 簡介內容 | Dankook is the first four-year private college in Korea, and its co-founders were able to pass on their thirst for higher learning to many young Korean students.The mottoes of 'National Salvation', 'Independence' and 'Self-Reliance' became part of the university's identity.
The principle of national salvation took shape as Koreans began to enjoy their freedom from colonial rule, but realized the need to develop a new society based on the ability of its people.
Similarly, the motto of independence reflected the strong desire of all young Koreans to strive for a better future in a democratic society. Self reliance focused on each individual's need to maintain his/her integrity and competence, through devotion and diligence. Underlying the three mottoes that became part of Dankook's identity are the twin guiding principles of 'Truth' and 'Service'. Truth governs the mind in our search for what is right and creates a learning environment that benefits all Dankook students.
Service dictates the actions that we take to pursue a better society for our neighbors, country and the world at large.
