| 簡介內容 | APU opened in April 2000 through the collaboration of three parties from the public and private sectors: Oita Prefecture, Beppu City and the Ritsumeikan Academy.
Approximately 2,600 international students from 81 countries and regions throughout the world currently learn together with around 3,200 Japanese students on APU's multicultural campus.
APU is the only Japanese university to adopt a fully bilingual education system. In contrast to most other universities in Japan, English-speaking individuals may enter APU without any prior exposure to the Japanese language.
Major subjects taught in English and Japanese also provide students with further opportunities to improve their language ability. Students can thus acquire the specialized skills and advanced language ability vital in the international business and academic worlds.
APU's fundamental objective is to cultivate young talent for the Asia Pacific Age. In response to the demand for capable human resources with highly specialized postgraduate education, APU established two international schools in April of 2003, which will further develop the academic discipline beyond the undergraduate level and cultivate truly international human resources.
