| 簡介內容 | Chuo Gakuin University is located in Abiko city, which lies between Tokyo and the New Tokyo International Airport at Narita city. Nearby Teganuma Lake is a treasure of the local people and also a reminder of the importance of environmental protection. Our university is strategically located for easy access to Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Disney Resort, Odaiba developed bayside area and other places of interest in the Metro Tokyo area.
Chuo Gakuin’s innovative 11-course University Core Curriculum brings academic discipline. All undergraduate students participate in this common core of courses, developing an ability to be life-long learners which is an essential quality for living and working in the 21st century.
Our goal at Chuo Gakuin University is meeting the educational needs of capable and creative students. We would also like them to enhance their own sense of social responsibility, based on unbiased and critical views of their society, while they are here. To meet these goals, we believe our intensive, well-rounded approach to be the best.
Our university is a historical institution in Japan. Our foundation celebrated the centenary anniversary in 2002. Moreover, our university will celebrate the 40th anniversary in 2006. In order to start our new historical period of the university, we created a new educational philosophy, “We educate for the most socially capable persons!” The philosophy also follows our goal, “Meeting the educational needs of capable and creative student.” The new philosophy inspires us to educate a person who has the ability to communicate with obligation and responsibility in the society.
Our international university partners are Tamkang University (Taiwan), the University of Memphis (U.S.A.) and Daegu University (South Korea). Also, we have a Study-Abroad Program with University of Waikato (New Zealand).
Tamkang University (Taiwan R.O.C.)
Tamkang University is the first foreign university to build a relationship of cooperation with our school in the history of Chuo Gakuin University. We began our partnership in 1968; then, we developed into the Cultural and Academic Exchange Partnership (1968-), the Study-Abroad Program (1968-) and the Student Exchange Program (1982-).
The University of Memphis (The United States of America)
The University of Memphis is the biggest and most competitive university in Mid-South area of the United States. Chuo Gakuin University made an agreement with the University of Memphis in 1976; then, we started the Study-Abroad Program (1976-) and the ESL Masters Program (1995-).
Daegu University (The Republic of Korea)
Chuo Gakuin University made an agreement with Daegu University for the purpose of creating Academic, Educational and Cultural Exchange Partnership in 1999. Students in some seminar classes visit Daegu University and communicate with Korean students.
The University of Waikato (New Zealand)
Chuo Gakuin University sends students every other year to the University of Waikato as the Study-Abroad Program (2001-). Students develop their conversational English skills and learn New Zealand’s culture on campus for three weeks.
