簡介內容 | Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich is one of the most prestigious and largest universities in Germany with an over 500-year tradition. The foundation of LMU’s enduring success is its combination of tradition and innovation.
ACADEMICS Its 18 faculties are home to more than 150 subjects taught by 660 professors and some 2000 research staffs. They offer a wide and well-differentiated spectrum of all areas of knowledge from the humanities and cultural studies to law, economics and social studies to medicine and the sciences. Students regard their studies at the LMU as an investment in their futures and a launching pad for their professional careers. This is why efficient completion, international comparability and the compatibility of degrees are the focus of the—by now 13—newly established B.A. and M.A. degree programs.
WORLD-CLASS RESEARCH As is appropriate for the calling and mission of a large research university, the LMU enables the bundling of all the resources available in Munich, a leading innovation hub. Interdisciplinary networking brings together various subjects, enabling innovative research and interdisciplinary learning. This is reflected in the extensive funding for LMU projects by the German Research Foundation: 13 Collaborative Research Centres for which the LMU acts as coordinating institution, nine Research Training Groups and three International Research Training Groups in addition to three international Ph.D. programs, funded by the German Academic Exchange Services. The Lmu’s particular importance for scientific research is also indicated by twelve Nobel laureates who completed their award-winning work at the LMU.
