| 簡介內容 | In 1423 Philippe the Good of Burgundy was the richest and most powerful of the three princes who ruled what is now France. One of his great achievements was to establish in Dole the Universite des deux Bourgognes comprising three faculties for theology, canon and civil law, and medicine.
The university’s development continued into the 20th century with the creation of a School of Law and accelerated considerably after the Second World War. Its reputation attracted an ever-growing number of students and its population rapidly increased. This momentum enabled the School of Medicine and the School of Law to be developed into faculties. Buoyed by its success, the university widened the range of courses
offered and opened the CLA (Centre for Applied Linguistics), the IUTs (technical colleges) and the Faculty of Physical and Sports Education. In 1971 all these components came together into a single whole, the University of Franche-Comte, under an elected President.
Joining the ?Bologna Process? in 2004 and adopting the European Scheme for Higher Education (three degrees : L,M, D) gives the University a new international dimension.
