| 簡介內容 | The University of Costa Rica is a public institution that in conjunction with the other three
public universities, forms the National Council of University Presidents (CONARE), which
coordinates all public higher education in the country.
The basic principles of the Constitution of the University of Costa Rica establish the right
to dialogue and freedom of expression and the coexistence of ideologies and philosophies
bounded only by the principles of mutual respect. Within this framework, academic
freedom as the basis of university teaching is guaranteed.
Years of ascribing to this philosophy has led to the formation of professionals capable of
making transformations in the productive forces of the country based on critical awareness
of the problems confronting society.
